What Is Soma?

Soma is an FDA approved medication manufactured by GlxoSmithKline. It is used to treat muscle spasms and muscle strains in adult patient.

How Soma Is Taken

The normal amount of Soma usually taken by a patient is the 350 mg pill. The pill can be taken as many as times per day, as needed, as well as at bedtime so that the relief lasts while you sleep. The drug should be taken with food or milk, especially if stomach upset occurs while taking the medication. It is not recommended to take more of the drug than is prescribed as an addiction to Soma can occur.

Side Effects Of Soma

All medications carry with them some risks by those who are taking it. Soma is no exception. There are both common and serious side effects that can result while taking Soma, and all patients should be aware of the side effects.

The most common side effect of Soma is drowsiness or dizziness. Do not operate a car or perform other dangerous tasks until you know how you will react to the drug. Other common side effects of Soma include headache, insomnia, agitation, irritability, and headache. Most patients were able to tolerate the drug well ans were not bothered by the side effects. Overdose

Signs of an overdose include difficulty breathing, low blood pressure, fainting, dry mouth, and confusion. Get medical help right away if you suspect an overdose of the drug.

Other Important Information About Soma

Alcohol can increase the side effects of Soma. You should avoid alcohol while taking the drug. It should not be mixed with other drugs similar in nature or other with certain other drugs. Use of the drug should be avoided by those who have kidney or liver disease, and women who are pregnant or think they could be pregnant should not take Soma. The side effects of Soma in the unborn baby are unknown. It is also possible for Soma to be passed during breastfeeding. Talk to a doctor before taking Soma if you are breastfeeding.
